Raw Cotton
With an average annual production of about 250.000 tons, Greek Raw Cotton is the first available for export crop of the Northern Hemisphere and is characterized by its excellent spinning values.
Staple length, micronaire range, strength, uniformity and short fiber index are always at the top of the range.
These last years, about 10% of the crop is consumed locally and the balance of about 90% is exported to over 25 countries every year major traditional export markets are Turkey, Egypt and Indonesia, which absorb about 70% of the Greek exports. Vietnam, China and Bangladesh follow, while Japan always remains a traditional destination.
